    HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE

     

    The Lead Tools Programmer is an experienced Software Engineer responsible for the delivery of desktop and pipeline tools used for game production on the world leading MMORPG’s RuneScape and Old School RuneScape. Tooling covers a broad range of disciplines including Modelling, Animation, Map Editing, Audio, Interface and Scripting – The successful candidate will need to foster a deep understanding of existing technologies while continually driving to enhance and change them. You will be influential within the organisation and be directly rewarded for the successes of the products.

    • Establish goals and milestones for team members and provide mentorship to enable them to develop and excel.
    • Gathering requirements from internal customers - artists, graphic designers, audio engineers and content developers.
    • Work closely with the Technical Director to plan and execute the Tools Development Roadmap.
    • Become the vision holder for the long-term progression of the internal tools.
    • Design, implementation and test of core Development Tool features.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving daily tools development issues.
    • Adhere to and maintain, high software development standards. 

    WHAT WE NEED

    • Proficiency with one or more of the following Languages: Java, C#, C/C++.
    • Experience leading a project or mentoring a team
    • Demonstrated industry experience in a tools development environment.
    • Knowledge of modern game development techniques.
    • Experience with rendering APIs such as OpenGL, Direct-X.
    • Actively involved in defining and regulating software development practices.
    • Excellent people-skills, with clear verbal and written communication
