    Jagex Games Studio is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced security manager to assess and continually monitor our organizations security posture, triage security incidents as necessary and provide coaching / consulting to reduce the overall security risk to the company.  These risks should be weighed relative to the product development velocity, the end-user experience and the protection of the user and company’s’ data.  You will provide insights to the technical teams using outputs from vulnerability assessment, architecture reviews, and log/event correlations from your security analyst(s).

     In this role you will not be accountable for security but will be focused around assessing security posture and then providing expert consultation to the product owners on how to best work around those risks.  This role will also ensure all security risks are communicated by the product owners and escalate if the risk is not brought to the properly awareness level. 

    The Security Manager is accountable for the all security monitoring and assessment tools, security engineers and analysts.  You will also provide information as part of a due diligence processes on products and 3rd party companies.  You will advise on technical security such as application security vulnerabilities, network security issues, and security architectures.  You will manage security programs and update security policies as needed.  We are looking for security leaders that possess a servant leadership type approach.


    • Hire, maintain and continually developing a team of security engineers and analysts so the studio can deliver on the requested experiences
    • The ability to work optimally in cross functional teams (Production, Engineering, QA, Data Analysts, Designers etc..) and coach your teams to that model
    • Constantly look for new opportunities to improve our user experience
    • Provide on-call tiered support for our key systems allowing our players to be able to play and pay our products always
    • Leads security discussions and evaluations
    • Understands agile software development
    • Monitors and improves the security awareness and assessments
    • Responsible for ensuring we are hiring quality staff, doing performance assessments, training and career development
    • Sets direction in your area of excellence and consistently influences decision-making at the domain level
    • Gives overall direction, structure and approach for their functional responsibility.
    • Accountable for the one year strategy for your area on excellence and how to continue improve that plan as it relates to the three year strategy with the VP of Tech.
    • Make others better through tech reviews, documentation and mentoring or serving as a technical lead on a project.
    • Analysis and execution of new and emerging technology and process to better support the business and our customers
    • Contributes to the career development of others providing frequent feedback, setting goals and works with other Leads, Managers and VP’s to ensure employee growth and development.


    • Avid and passionate gamer
    • Proven commercial experience in Information Security or an IT security related role
    • Previous experience in Information Security Management or equivalent role
    • Cloud related knowledge and experience is required
    • Must have a strong desire to learn and develop
    • Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders across the business
    • Business / commercial acumen
    • Strong relationship management and influencing skills
    • Experience running end user and development security awareness training
    • Strong analytical skill set
    • Strong knowledge in networking, Infrastructure, systems architecture and application development
    • Strong vulnerability, penetration testing and threat intelligence knowledge & experience.
    • Application security development experience a huge plus
    • Relevant professional qualification (CISSP, CISM) a plus
    • Audit experience especially in relation to ISO27001 or NIST 800-53 is a plus
